Teacher Training

Anseye Pou Ayiti (Teach for Haiti)

We are very fortunate at St. Andre’s to have formed a partnership with a visionary teacher training program called Anseye Pou Ayiti. Two of our teachers were accepted into APA’s two year fellowship program for 2016. In addition, one of the graduates of the Anseye Pou Ayiti program was hired to teach the 4th grade class. We look forward to a transformational change in educational pedagogy and outcomes for students at our school.

The Mission statement of Anseye Pou Ayiti:

Anseye Pou Ayiti will raise education outcomes in disadvantaged areas of Haiti by recruiting and training outstanding teachers for existing schools. Transformational teaching and leadership will equip all children with the knowledge, skills, and mindsets to achieve their full potential with equal opportunity, pursue lives of mutual prosperity, and contribute to a more enlightened 21st century world.

“The mission of APA is important because it aims for a change in the Haitian education system, which is currently very mediocre. Haiti can and will succeed when we achieve strong education outcomes.”

“I stand with APA as a teacher leader because it is necessary for all children to have leaders, role models to guide them. If I am not a leader, I cannot contribute to developing leaders.”
